Most of my songs carry allusions, as I've spent an abundance of time absorbing Gilmore Girls, to the point where I feel it's necessary to drop confusing bullshit onto unsuspecting people with little to no context. This song references Car Seat Headrest. Will Toledo often includes allusions to other songs in his songs. So, the line about drugs and friends is kind of like me holding a mirror to another writer I admire. I was never into any drugs, except Lexapro. Taking Lexapro, alone or with friends, seems like an uneventful anecdote... ** Lexapro is better with friends. Friends are better with Lexapro. I'd love to get you... some Lexapro... it'll be three weeks before your symptoms ease... is your tolerance too HIGH?! **
